Soda Bread a.k.a. Beer Bread


This is my favorite recipe for Soda Bread a.k.a. Beer Bread. It is easy to make and it goes along great with most dinners. Try it out! Also, if you don't have self-rising flour you can use 3 cups all-purpose flour and add 1 Tbsp. more of
baking powder. (I reccomend using self-rising flour for best results)

2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 (12 oz.) can of soda pop
1/4 cup melted butter

Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease a 9X5-inch baking pan.
In a bowl, mix the self-rising flour, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour in the Mountain Dew or soda of your choice, and mix just until moistened. Transfer to the prepared baking pan. Top with the melted butter.
Bake 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
