Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes


These are simple to make and kids love them! You can order a cupcake cone baking pan and carrying case from Joy. You have to use their order form on the ice cream cone box. They won't let you order online. I have one and love it! I use this buttercream recipe with Wilton tip #1M to make a soft serve ice cream look.

1 box cake mix (any non-swirl flavor)
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
24 flat-bottom ice-cream cones
1 container (12 oz) frosting (I make buttercream frosting)
Assorted candies and decorations, if desired

1. Heat oven to 350°F. Make cake batter as directed on box, using water, oil and eggs. Fill 12 cones about 2/3 full of batter. Stand cones in muffin pan. Refrigerate any leftover batter until ready to fill and bake remaining cones.
2. Bake 15-20 minutes or until toothpick carefully inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Frost with frosting and decorate as desired. Store loosely covered at room temperature.
